Sunday 19 November was our annual enrolment service for our Girls’ Brigade.  Thinking about the story from John 12 v 1-8 and the extravagant act of Mary, we learn how she did what was better in staying close to Jesus and putting him first.

On this our Children’s Day service, we think about what it means to get ready for Jesus.  We all get ready everyday for going to school and work, as well as getting ready for sports and activities.  But are we ready for Jesus?  We learn what it means to get ready for Jesus and eternity as we look at John 14: 1-7.

The doors are locked and the disciples are in fear as they try to work out what has happened to the body of Jesus. All of a sudden he appears in their midst and speaks peace to them. But Thomas isn’t there and he doubts the account of his friends. Eight days later Jesus appears to him and seeing is truly believing.

The joy and mystery of the first Easter Sunday morning gives us hope today as we celebrate our risen Saviour.
