Evening Worship – Sunday 9 April 2023 (Easter Sunday)
There is fear and confusion on the first Easter evening as the disciples try to figure out what has happened, when all of a sudden Jesus appears in their midst. They are over joyed and fearful, trying to comprehend what they are seeing. Jesus speaks peace to them and they see the nail prints in his hands. They see and believe, but that’s not the case for Thomas. He isn’t among them on that night and he won’t believe until he sees for himself. Eight days later Jesus appears again to the disciples and this time Thomas is there. Seeing and believing he declares the risen Jesus as his Lord and God!
