On Resurrection Day we celebrate the events of that first Easter morning as the women make their way to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus. To their surprise the body is gone! It hasn’t been moved or stolen – Christ is Risen. In her shock and grief Mary Magdalene doesn’t recognise Jesus and mistakes him for the gardener. As Christ gently says her name she recognises who he is and sees his true identity.
Do we have a mistaken identity of Jesus? Do we try to make him fit what we want, or allow him to shape us into his likeness? Follow along in John 20: 1-18 (NIV84) to find out the true identity of Jesus as our risen Saviour.
