Series: Harvest Thanksgiving 2023

Luke 12:13-21 warns against the prevailing notion that accumulating more worldly possessions is the path to true life. True life is found in knowing God and experiencing His salvation through Jesus. We are to prioritise eternal life through a relationship with God, recognising that worldly riches ultimately hold no value in the face of mortality.

In Scripture the harvest is not just one festival, but three celebrations of God’s goodness towards his people. As much as it looked back to God’s provision, it looks forward to his continued care. But most importantly it points us to the gospel, his great provision for our souls.

Being rooted in God’s word will strengthen and mature us in Christ, just as a seed planted produces good and healthy fruit. We are to keep sowing, even though the harvest will take time.
