Morning Worship – Sunday 23rd April 2023
Acts 10 v 1-23a mark the second part of Peter’s preparation for future ministry, but the chapter open with a gentile named Cornelius. The is a man who is a sworn enemy of the Jews, both by birth and political allegiance, but he is a man who worships God. He send for Peter and in preparation for this meeting Peter receives a personal revelation of what it means to go into all the world, not just the Jewish world, to proclaim the good news of the gospel.
On first reading it looks like this passage is all about food and what can and can’t be eaten, but it is about so much more. This passages challenges our own prejudices in evangelism and opens our hearts to see how God moves and works through his world for the sake of the kingdom.
Acts 10 v 1-23a continues the great movement of the gospel into all the world.
